By horse-breeding standards, only those horses that have the same dam are considered half-siblings. Straight Flush and #Secretariat were out of the same mare, so they were half-brothers. However, Secretariat and other horses sired by Bold Ruler are not called siblings.⁠

I really enjoy this picture of the great Man O War with his acclaimed groom, Will Harbut. For at least 15 years of "Red's" life, Harbut took care of his every need. What are the two thinking at that moment? Does Red care about his miniature likeness? ⁠

Harbut suffered a debilitating stroke in 1946 and was no longer able to take care of Red. Harbut died in October 1947, and just a month later, Red died peacefully. They must have been soulmates.⁠
